Event narrative

The Automated Surface Observing Station at Martha's Vineyard Airport (KMVY) recorded wind gusts up to 43 mph. A Weatherflow mesonet site at Vineyard Haven Harbor recorded a wind gust of 44 mph.

Wider weather episode

A warm front moved northward into southern New England bringing warm air and unstable air into the region. Showers and a few thunderstorms developed as a cold front moved into the unstable air, particularly over the waters.
