Strong Santa Ana winds developed across the Santa Monica mountains. The RAWS sensor at Malibu Hills reported northerly wind gusts of 59 MPH.
Wider weather episode
Strong surface high pressure over the Great Basin generated gusty northeast winds across the mountains of Ventura and Los Angeles counties. Wind gusts as high as 62 MPH were reported.
