Wind gust up to 73 mph were noted at the Surprise Valley RAWS on the 15th. Meanwhile, a home weather station in Fort Bidwell recorded wind gusts up to 69 mph.

A strong cold front moved through eastern California early on the 16th. Ahead of the front on the 15th, strong winds occurred in the lee of the Warner and Sierra Nevada Mountains.
