A trough of low pressure tracked east through Kentucky. Rain during the day quickly changed over to snow as colder air rushed in. Dry, northeast winds on the north side of this storm limited the northern extent of the snowfall, with significant snow found over eastern Kentucky and southern and southeast Ohio.
