Event narrative
Biddle Butte gusted greater than 35 mph with a peak gust of 60 mph, and a CWOP station in Washougal (AP164) frequently gusted to 25 mph with a peak of 44 mph. There were no snow reports with in this snow, but snow reports near by support that 4 to 8 inches of snow in the area. Near by Cascade Locks reported 8 inches of snow.
Wider weather episode
Preceding cold arctic air mass combined with Strong East winds and a moist front resulted in blizzard conditions for the Western Columbia River Gorge.
