Event narrative
Based on radar and nearby reports, up to 6 inches of snow were followed by 0.5 to 1 inch of ice leading to numerous downed trees and power outages. The Eugene Water and Electric reported numerous downed power lines and shared a picture on Facebook with around an inch of ice on one of their power lines in Oakridge. This was a widespread damaging event which covered Lane County.
Wider weather episode
A frontal system brought snow and ice to Northwest Oregon February 7th and 8th after a previous storm produced widespread heavy snow across the area on February 6th.
