Event narrative

Heavy icing led to widespread power outages in Lane County, leaving thousands without power. A picture on the Eugene Water and Electric's Facebook page showed some downed power lines with around 1 inch of ice accumulated on them. A spotter in Lebanon reported 0.5 inch of ice and there were several reports of 0.3 to 0.75 inch ice in Eugene.

Wider weather episode

A Weather system brought additional ice to Northwest Oregon March 8th. This is the third cold weather event after a widespread snow/ice event on the 7th, and a widespread heavy snow event on the 6th.
