Event narrative

Two brothers were snowmobiling in the Uinta Mountains, on a popular slope in Gold Hill Basin. One of them, a 39-year-old male, triggered an avalanche, which caught, carried, and buried him several feet deep in snow. The other brother was able to dig him out and attempt CPR, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
