An airline pilot reported a waterspout 3 miles southwest of Lindbergh Field, near North Island Naval Air Station.

A cold upper level low pressure system moved through southern California on the 2nd, creating enough instability for isolated showers over the coastal waters. A few storms were strong and one produced a waterspout off the southern San Diego County coast.
