A brief rope funnel appeared below a thunderstorm for about a couple of minutes in Basalt.

Wider weather episode

Western Colorado remained in the path of monsoonal moisture. Numerous surface boundaries in the area combined with orographic lifting to provide the focus for afternoon thunderstorms that produced high rainfall rates. Strong outflow winds and a funnel cloud were also reported from some of the stronger storms.
