The wider storm

The first significant snow fall of the winter season stranded hundreds of visitors who had gone to the mountains to celebrate New Years Day. Highway 18 was closed between Rimforest and the Heaps Peak Arboretum. Six inches of snow was observed at the 5000 feet elevation.
