Low pressure developing along the southern New England coast tracked just east of the Gulf of Maine. The northern edge of the precipitation shield brought heavy snow to portions of Downeast Maine. Snowfall totals of 7 to 11 inches were common across the region...with the highest totals occurring near the Downeast coast.
