A cold front moved across the area ushering in colder air. Periods of wet snow accompanied the front with falling temperatures. Roads became very slick with numerous accidents reported. Accidents on I-91 resulted in closure of portions of that interstate around Ascutney. One death resulted of a young boy and serious injuries to another boy and an adult when the pickup they were riding in flipped over several times due to the icy roads. In addition, a tractor-trailer jackknifed in the Sharon area. At one point, portions of both I-91 and I-89 were closed in and around the White River Junction area after up to 50 cars had slid off the road.
