A moderate frontal system, moving through the Aleutians, was preceded by gusty southeast winds. In the Dutch Harbor area, winds peaked at 62 mph around midday Monday. Further east, wind gusts also reached 62 mph in advance of the front, early Tuesday, as reported at the Port Heiden AWOS.
