Southwest wind gusts above 60 mph were reported around Dutch Harbor Thursday afternoon from 1:30 pm ADT to 5 pm ADT. These gusty winds were observed along the southeast side of a low that moved from south of Cape Sarichef early Thursday to 90 miles south of Saint George Island Thursday afternoon. Highest gusts reached 62 mph just before 4 pm ADT, dimishing below 60 mph thereafter. On the east side of the low, locally brisk southeast winds were also reported around Cape Newenham, where gusts briefly reached 73 mph. These winds also affected portions of adjacent land areas to Kuskokwim Bay.
