An intense 969 mb low curved northwestward by Middleton Island Thursday afternoon. Strong easterly winds were observed along the east and northeast quadrant of the storm. Gusts around Middleton Island above 60 mph began just after 9 am ADT, diminishing below 60 mph around noon. Peak gusts reached 67 mph just after 10 am ADT Thursday.
