A moderate front, moving through the Unalaska/Dutch Harbor area, was preceded by brisk southerly winds. Gusts at the Captain's Bay handar site reached 61 mph briefly just before midnight Wednesday. Winds diminished below 60 mph by 2 am ADT Thursday.
