Heavy snow on the roads along with visibility reduction contributed to a fatal accident 20 miles west of Watertown on U.S. Highway 212. The driver was eastbound on the wrong side of the road (westbound lane) when he approached a westbound snowplow. He swerved to miss the snowplow and lost control of his vehicle. As his vehicle was sliding sideways in the westbound lane, it was struck by another vehicle with two people inside. The driver in the wrong lane was killed with the other two people sustaining serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
