Event narrative
An upper storm system that caused earlier heavier snows over southern Colorado on March 20th and March 21st, moved across portions of far southern Arizona and southern New Mexico by March 22nd, however the storm still had enough energy to cause isolated heavy snow amounts over portions of the southern Colorado mountains. Cuchara, in Huerfano county, received 8 inches of snow while Santa Maria reservoir in Mineral county also accumulated an additional 8 inches of snow.
