Event narrative
Heavy rains fell across the eastern part of Creek county during the early morning hours of May 6.6.32 inches of rain was reported at Heyburn Dam and 8.12 inches were measured at Kiefer. The most flood damage was observed in Sapulpa where Rock Creek overflowed its banks. More than 150 homes and 12 businesses were damaged in Sapulpa. An additional 40 homes were evacuated in Kiefer where Childers Creek overflowed in banks. Numerous roads were closed due to the flooding. These roads included the Turner Turnpike between Kellyville and Bristow and Highway 66 south of Kellyville. The damage to roads and bridges in Creek county was estimated at $300,000.
