A 39-year old woman was killed when the strong winds which preceded a thunderstorm caused a 57 ft section of a tree to break off from the base and fall on her at the Windham Town Beach at Cobbetts Pond. The woman was on an outing to the beach with two young children at the time of the incident. Reportedly, there were no other trees down in the vicinity.
