Event narrative

A large tree branch fell on a moving vehicle causing the driver to lose control and crash resulting in his death. Heavy rain and quarter sized hail was reported also with this storm at the time of the crash.

Wider weather episode

Mid-afternoon thunderstorms caused tree damage and hail north of the Tampa Bay Area. One indirect fatality was associated with a storm near Brooksville.
