Event narrative
Heavy rain and snow melt caused flooding on small rivers and streams in Columbia. A bridge spanning Lyman Brook was destroyed isolating an entire neighborhood until a temporary structure could be installed.
Wider weather episode
High temperatures near 80 along with 1 to 2 inches of rain caused the remaining snowpack to quickly melt resulting in widespread flooding. Many roads were flooded and washed out.
