Winds at the Wasilla Fire Station briefly reached a peak of 62 mph early Saturday. Reports further northeast along the Glenn Highway indicated stronger winds, which persisted into the afternoon. These stronger winds, however, could not be confirmed.Winds at the Portage Visitor center ASOS also gusted as high as 60 mph late Friday between 11 and midnight ADT.All directions were easterly.
