High winds occurred over portions of Northeast Colorado. In Thornton, a contruction worker was critically injured when the scaffolding on which he was standing collapsed, throwing him 25 feet. Peak wind reports from around the region included: 71 mph (62 kts), 9 miles west-southwest of Rustic, 65 mph (56 kts), 4 miles east of Haxtun, 63 mph (55 kts) at Merino and 14 miles north-northwest of Otis, and 60 mph (52 kts) at Fort Morgan and 15 miles west-northwest of Sterling.
