A developing storm over the northern Rockies produced strong wind over northern Arizona through the afternoon. Many locations felt wind gusts between 40 and 50 MPH. Some of the peak wind gusts recorded were: Flagstaff and Grand Canyon Airports 44 MPH, St Johns 43 MPH, Window Rock 41 MPH, and Winslow 40 MPH.
