A strong cold front moved through the region followed by a prolonged period of gusty northwest winds. The winds knocked over a battery charger at a bark mulch manufacturing operation in Windham, sparking a fire that caused an estimated $1.2 to $1.5 million in damages to a storage building and equipment. Winds gusted to 45 mph (measured) in Portland, and 44 mph (measured) in Lewiston.
