2000-10-27 · Coconino Plateau, Arizona

A deep low pressure system spread a narrow swath of snow across the higher elevations of the Western Mogollon Rim and the Coconino Plateau. Most of the snow fell between Williams and Valle with lesser amouts to the east. Snowfall amouts reported were: Williams 6 to 12inches, Parks 6 to 9 inches, and Valle 12 inches. The power was knocked out in Parks. There were at least 5 wrecks on I-40 between Flagstaff and Bellemont and one on I-17 involving semi-trucks. The heavy snow caused trees to fall over a road south of Williams.
