Wider weather episode

Heavy rain redeveloped from eastern Edwards and Real Counties into western Bandera and Kerr Counties near midnight on the 2nd. General rainfall totals were only 1 to 2 inches. However, isolated amounts up to 5 inches were indicated between Rocksprings and Leakey. Since much of the soil across the area was already saturated from previous rainfall, flash flooding developed very quickly. A woman, aged 82, was drowned in her vehicle in Guadalupe River near Center Point in the early morning hours of the 3rd. The vehicle was swept away into the Guadalupe and she was unable to escape.
