A moderate front moving east and northeast through the Cook Inlet, Susitna Valley and Prince William Sound areas generated locally gusty east and southeast winds in several channeled areas. Gusts reached 64 mph at Rabbit Creek, 61 mph at the Prince William Sound Science Center in Cordova and 61 mph along the Matanuska River.At a high elevation site near the Alpenglow Ski area just east northeast of the city of Anchorage, wind gusts reached 128 mph at 10 pm on Thursday, 125 mph at 11pm Friday and 129 mph at 3 am Saturday. Winds above 60 mph were recorded at the site Saturday until 3pm, when speeds abruptly diminished to less than 15 mph.
