Hanagan Meadow received a total of 24 inches of snow with estimates of 4 to 6 inches of snow falling per hour. Highway 191 received 12 to 18 inches of snow.
Wider weather episode
The second winter storm of the season originated over the Gulf of Alaska. By the morning of the 6th, the low closed off over southeast Arizona. Accompanying the system was an 160kt 250mb jet. Low topped strong thunderstorms developed over the Tucson Metro area on the 7th with reports of pea size and marble size hail. Snow was accumulating as low as 4000 feet.
