A tornado damaged 3 farmsteads in including damage to at least one house. The greatest damage was to structures and vehicles at a dairy farm.

Thunderstorms in the late afternoon and early evening of May 11th produced large hail and damaging winds in northwest Iowa, as well as two tornadoes which caused damage. The severe weather occurred in Cherokee, O'Brien, and Sioux Counties.
