Event narrative

A sudden downburst from a thunderstorm produced flash flooding down the gorges of the hills on the west side of Aurora. The water soon filled the canals that go through town. The canal bank broke in 3 places, causing the State road department to be called out to repair the damage. The Denmark Wash overflowed a road leading to some homes, and flooded some farmyards. No injuries or damage was reported.
