Law Enforcement reported penny size hail along North Augusta Street in the City of Staunton.
Wider weather episode
A weak front extending from southwest Pennsylvania through eastern West Virginia and into central North Carolina lifted north as a warm front to bring a hot and humid air mass to the region on August 24th. As this front moved north, scattered showers and thunderstorms developed across the Shenandoah Valley of central Virginia. Several of these storms became severe, producing damaging winds and large hail across Rockingham, Augusta and Albemarle Counties.
