Event narrative

Pictures of multiple waterspouts were sent into KLFY channel 10 from offshore personnel. The waterspouts were in association with a stalling frontal boundary and viewed from Eugene Island Block 184.

Wider weather episode

An unusual summertime cold front moved off the gulf coast during the morning of the 16th. A line of showers and thunderstorms produced some waterspouts 40 to 60 miles south of the coast. Strong thunderstorms remained across the gulf coastal waters through the 18th.
