Wind blown hail stripped a lot of leaves off trees and accumulated to a depth of two inches. The largest hail stones were the sized of ping pong balls.

An embedded disturbance in a northwest flow acted on residual moisture to develop a strong thunderstorm in the Steamboat Springs area.
