A strong winter storm system brought a variety of severe winter weather to all of Northwest Kansas on the morning of January 13th before finally ending in the evening of the same day. Freezing drizzle iced up roads and sidewalks during the morning hours before switching over to all snow by noon. Several accidents occured across the area with two causing some minor injuries on I-70 in Sherman and Thomas counties. Snowfall amounts varied from 1 to 4 inches south of Highway 40 to 6 to 9 inches along and to the north of I-70.
