Coast Guard relayed a report of a 50 knot wind gust from a boat 12 miles east of the South Padre Island Jetty.

A squall line that moved across Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley surged over the Lower Texas Coastal Waters on the evening of May 9th and just after midnight May 10th. The storms brought strong and gusty winds of gale force and above.
