Strong northerly winds were observed on the northern end of Utah County, with a sensor in Saratoga Springs recording a peak wind gust of 65 mph.
Wider weather episode
A cold and moist Pacific storm system brought widespread rain and snow to Utah, with the heaviest precipitation in the southern half of the state. Snow levels fell to the valley floors in some locations, with the wet, heavy snow causing damage and creating hazardous driving conditions. Strong winds were also observed in both northern and southern Utah with this storm.
