Event narrative
A cold front, moving across Renselaer County, late during the afternoon of June 20, produced wind gusts that while below warning criteria, nevertheless damaged a church under construction in the town of Brunswick. The building was only in the framing state and trusses were being placed on a roof. The precariously ballanced trusses were toppled into the church by wind speeds estimated between 30 and 50 mph . Eleven workers suffered injuries, one of which was severe.
