A rapidly developing North Pacific low grazed the outer coast of Southeast Alaska as it moved northward into the Gulf of Alaska, spreading strong winds across the southern portion of the panhandle. Peak winds associated with the event were 75 mph at the Ketchikan harbor, 69 mph at the Ketchikan airport tower, 47 mph at the Metlakatla harbor, and 54 mph at the Hydaburg seaplane base. A spotter in Craig reported (estimated) 69 mph.
