A deep low pressure system moved from the North Pacific into Dixon Entrance and inland over the southern Panhandle. Strong winds ahead of the low impacted the inner channels; a peak wind of 69 mph was recorded at the Ketchikan Airport tower. On the back side of the low, very strong winds struck the outer coast of Prince of Wales Island; a peak wind of 69 mph was reported in Craig.
