A deep 968 mb low in the northern Gulf of Alaska moved inland near Yakutat bringing strong, gusty winds to much of the Panhandle. The highest winds occurred along the outer coast and in the southern inner channels, where winds from 55 to near 80 mph were recorded. Several trees were downed on Prince of Wales Island during the storm.
