The wider storm
An upper-level low passing south of the islands produced east to southeast winds of 60 to 80 mph, with gusts to 100 mph, near the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. No serious property damage or injuries were reported, though.
