A compact storm system moved from Eastern Montana, across western South Dakota, and into Nebraska. Light snowfall was reported over most of western South Dakota; however a swath of heavy snow developed across eastern Butte, Meade, and the plains of Pennington Counties. Generally six inches of snow fell in this area, with a report of eight inches in central Meade County.
