A late-season arctic cold front moved southward out of Canada and into eastern Washington from late on the afternoon of the 5th through the 6th. Moist air overran the dome of cold air and brought heavy snow. Even the bottom of the Lewiston-Clarkston valley received 1 to 2 inches of snow. Snowfall totals with this storm include: Oakesdale...8.3", Pomeroy...5", Rosalia...5", Saint John...4", and Spokane International...3.6".
