Event narrative

Storms remained nearly stationary producing 8 to 12 inches of rain in and around the Albany area. The deluge produced significant flooding in Albany. The hardest hit areas were on the north and west parts of town. The North Hubbard Creek and Gourd Creek came out of their banks. More than 100 homes were damaged or destroyed due to the flood.

Wider weather episode

Slow moving thunderstorms across the Big Country produced very heavy rains of up to 12 inches and isolated hail reports of one inch. Albany was hit especially hard as a flash flood swept through the town.
