Event narrative

At least six inches of fast moving water flowed over Highway 90 near mile marker 25. Additionally, several mud slides occurred along Highway 141 from mile markers 63 to 68.

Wider weather episode

The weather pattern was favorable for another strong push of monsoon moisture northward into Colorado in mid September. The resultant thunderstorms produced heavy rainfall which contributed to flash flooding and debris flows across many areas.
