Event narrative

Strong thunderstorm winds capsized a boat on Lake Stamford. Three people were in the boat at the time it capsized and one person drowned.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms formed over the Texas Panhandle and western Oklahoma during the early evening hours. These storms moved quickly to the southeast and produced strong damaging winds over much of west central Texas in the late evening and early morning hours.
