Event narrative

A tree was blown down onto U.S. Highway 441 which blocked the southbound lane just north of the Florida Georgia state line. The cost of damage was estimated.

Wider weather episode

A trailing wake trough from TS Arthur lingered over the forecast area. This feature combined with high moisture, daytime instability and the sea breezes sparked scattered strong to severe storms over the forecast area. Drier air in the mid level supported strong wind gusts in thunderstorms.
